I probably should have known this sooner - maybe it was mentioned earlier; I'm not gonna sift through nearly 70 pages to find out - but after watching a BBC History film about Hiroshima, I learned that Gareth Edwards did the VFX for it. Suddenly, having Edwards work on Godzilla seems like a better idea than it did before. Not that I had any real doubts after watching Monsters, but still...

And that Godzilla fan art from earlier strikes me as a decent idea with flawed execution. I don't care much for the head, and he really should have more pronounced shoulders. I would like to see a G2K-ish design for the movie, but most of the fan concepts I've seen fall short when they try to push it to an extreme.

It definitely isn't a cast full of camera-muggers and "beautiful" people. I like that a lot. This cast is shaping up exactly the way I wanted it to: character actors and second-tier people and no HUGE names.

I mean, I think a guy like Cranston is a pretty big name, but not bigger than Godzilla, and that's what I wanted for this movie.
