I really like the Legendary Godzilla design, but I'd like the dorsal plates to be a smidgen more traditional. I realized that Arthur Adams essentially did that in his cover to the '14 prequel comic:

Tweaking the design is a good idea. I'm not in favor of abandoning it wholesale, but tweaking it for sure, especially in the face, where I think it's got something not quite right.

All this Skull Island teaser stuff with that Monarch logo stamped all over it... what if that simplistic 'butterfly' logo is a reference to Mothra? Like, maybe Mothra was the reason Monarch was originally organized, before they discovered Godzilla.

It would be cool, but... monarchs are butterflies, not moths.

Design tweaks I'd like to see are:

Slightly bigger eyes, maybe a little less yellow, but I could honestly live with the eyes exactly as they were in G'14.

Feet? Dump those stumpy elephant feet. Bring back the more traditional 4 -toes in a general T-Rex shape. Seriously, they look silly as-is.

Spines slightly bigger would be cool, but my main concern in that department is...

Atomic Breath. Lose the thin, liquidy spewing and go with a mouth-filling space shuttle-type rocket exhaust blast that pushes his head back slightly from the force. Current color is great, though.

Trim his waistline a tad. Seriously, the guy needs to put down that extra slice of pizza. LOL

And lastly make his teeth longer & sharper. A mouthful of stubby, rounded teeth doesn't look particularly threatening on screen and poses little threat to an adversary in a tooth & nail physical battle.

Hmmm... Guess that's about it. I'm OK with everything else; skin texture, color, tail, gills, etc.

I love the stumpy feet, but I'd like the claws to be more extended and curl outward.

I'm fine with the design overall. My only thing would be to improve him as Arthur Adams did, but give him a slightly beat up look. I'm really fascinated in the maturity of this Godzilla and seeing how he would change throughout every movie.

Interesting update.... Apparently Godzilla 2 is being Titled "Godzilla King of the Monsters"....
So is this ANOTHER reboot? Since all the characters in Godzilla are forgettable and don't really matter to the bigger picture - outside of Dr. Serizawa? - to properly set up KGVSG?

Taking this with a grain of salt - however,
