Eeek...I'm getting excited gang! Today is going to be the LONGEST day at work EVER!!!!!

I'm so happy many of you are putting it in the top 10 though cause that's a great sign to me. And I notice no one has dared called this movie GINO either. Again another great sign.

Roll on 7pm. Gonna have a fantastic night. Dinner and then Godzilla! Definitely seeing it again this weekend too! If it's good I'll try to see it at least 5 times in the theater (to support the franchise). It'll never top my 17 times for Godzilla 2000 though LOL

boxoffice.com is predicting a 74million opening. That's good going into memorial day weekend. Still hoping for it to hit 80-90 though... This movie has been positive all away around.

Got my tickets for a showing later tonight, took a vacation day at work, and finally got my official WB G tshirt so I'm good to go.

Got tickets for my girl and I for 7 tonight at imax. The anticipation is killing me.

At 8pmEst, I'll be sitting in the IMAX theater waiting to see The King of the Monsters!

Here's hoping for the best. I am really excited...and also very nervous.

Well, I saw a thumbnail of the breath on Facebook, and scrolled away as quickly as I could. Thank God it didn't auto-play, but even still I feel the tiniest bit mad that I saw it to begin with.

Shinji Higuchi of all people was the one who posted it. I can't even be mad... :\

Got 15 people coming with me tonight including my family!!! CAN NOT WAIT!

Saw a screening last night and would give it around 7.5 out of 10.

Thought the first act was pretty strong, the second act was really weak, and the third act rocked.

Other thoughts...
--ATJ wasn't terrible, but he could not have been any blander. It's not disgracefully bad acting like Marion Cottilard's death scene in TDKR, but he just phones it in. Maybe the roids have taken away any emotion.
--Edwards did a better job directing than I expected. He framed some shots beautifully, and the cinematography was top-notch.
--Way too many "cheats" and not showing what the audience wanted and what should/could have been shown (before final battle). Edwards was playing games and there were some groans in the audience.
--Not a good Godzilla design, but he sounded great. There was one early drawing that had it exactly right if they would have slimmed down the legs. It would have been perfect.
--MUTOS were more like Gamera foes
--Score was weak. Nothing memorable and Ifukube should have been used in money shots.
--Not a bad effort for the first film in what may be a series. I would go with Ghidorah in the second and not Mothra.

Will be seeing it again on a bigger screen on Friday to get the best experience possible.

I've been purposely avoiding most G14 forums and facebook because Jelly warned me about the leaked video. Unfortunately FB usually has a tendency to ruin movies and people aren't courteous or smart enough to realIze some of us don't want to see that stuff.

I'm also thrilled Gyaos liked the movie. I've disagreed with most of his comments prior to him seeing the film but he gave it a fair shake...which means I'll probably really like it since it won him over (minus some of the criticisms that others have agreed with him on). I adore Ikfukube's work but I don't think it was fair or realistic to use his music for this film. That's an expectation I think was misplaced and far from reality.

I'm seeing this tonight!! I can't wait.

Yeah, even I can't deny the Dark Night is better than Captain America. But Captain America is trying it's best to be Batman.

My countdown is making me more and more antsy. 7PM feels like an eternity, but its only 8 hours away.

Sadly Godzilla has slid under 80% on RT. Shame. I was hoping it would stay above that mark.

The criticisms have been two fold: complaints about Godzilla's screen time or the characters. Apparently the SPFX stuff and the overall action is great. I guess I'll find out tonight!

Metacritic has creeped back up to 63.

Yeah, the general consensus from the new bad reviews listed on RT seems to be "it barely has Godzilla in it and it's boring," which would lead me to my own conclusion: those people are stupid.

But I shall see tonight!

It just creeped back above 80 on RT actually. I really hate tracking RT scores before a movie's release, but I still find myself doing it with this movie. I just can't help it lol.

The complaints about Godzilla's screen time from professional critics is maddening. I expect that kind of foolishness from die-hard fans, but if you're a professional critic and THAT'S the reason you give the movie a negative review, you need your head knocked around to bash your brain into place.

I mean, honestly, it's FINE if someone doesn't like the movie. If ATJ just rubs you the wrong way, and everything after Cranston is on screen seems deadened in terms of emotional impact and the climax just throws all kinds of stuff at you that's not your kind of movie, that's FINE...but no movie is BAD due to the lack of its monster. Are Jaws and Alien BAD because they don't have tons of shark and alien? It just seems terribly unprofessional to me for someone to be PAID to write that the movie is BAD because it doesn't have enough Godzilla in it.

You wonder if these people today would write articles, "Shouldn't a Movie Called Alien have an ALIEN in It?"

Again, don't like the movie? That's fine. Don't like it because Godzilla's screen time is limited? That's okay....as long as you're just a die-hard fan who's only there to see Godzilla. A film critic should be there to review the QUALITY OF THE FILM, not the screen time of characters.
