JJEEEZZUSS.
Just finished up the Season 2 Episodes that have aired. This show is so great. Great characters, art, and so many wonderful episodes.

Heart of Evil is especially great. It combines Blue Falcon with some The Dark Knight Returns-esque grit. It's hilarious. The Jonny Quest gang shows up as well.

This is the greatest Scooby Show since the original. It goes back to the original show, takes inspiration from that starts from square one - but it doesn't forget about the legacy either (as evidenced by all the classic Hanna Barbara references).

This still somehow trumps the original for me.
People NEED to watch this show.
If you're not sure if you should try it, check these out:

Battle of the Humongonauts - War of the Gargantuas homage episode, complete with words getting stuck in somebody's throat.

The Shrieking Madness - H.P. Lovecraft Homage episode.

Mystery Solvers Club State Finals - Scooby Doo and other classic Hanna Barbera mascots have to save their teenagers

Escape From Mystery Manor - Classic Gang explores a spooky old house, only this one is underground.

Nightfright - Vincent Van Ghoul (Vincent Price homage from 13 Ghosts) invites Scooby and Shaggy to his mansion for dinner.

From Season 2: Beware of major spoilers in these episodes.

Night Terrors - Scooby Doo meets the Shining (more or less)

Heart of Evil - The gang encounter a Dark Knight Returns esque Blue Falcon + Benton Quest is tied into the origin of Blue Falcon.

There is a major story arc, but these are really cool episodes to check out and see if the show is for you.

Here's an image and is an example of the sort of humor:

I typically liked Velma more than Daphne, but they've definitely drawn her cuter than previously.

All the designs for the characters in this show are awesome. I especially like Daphne.

This show is ending with (and was only intended to run to) episode 52, right? When they start the inevitable next Scooby show I hope the follow the lead this show took with developing the characters and world.

Frankenstein Jr. (with or without The Impossibles) or go home!

Finished the first two single discs, and while I liked the show before (a lot) seeing it in order (and not missing episodes) is a whole different experience. This show is excellent.

2012: Archie comics are the most socially relevant mainstream comics on the market and Daphne and Fred are the most interesting Scooby-Doo characters. It's a topsy-turvy world we live in.

The voice cast is incredible. I mean, the main cast is very strong, but it's always cool to check out the credits and place the familiar voice ("Oh, yeah that was Dave Gruber!").

I thought that having Harlan Ellison voice himself on Scooby-Doo was one of those nigh-impossible things to accomplish, but a short visit to his wiki page tells me that he's done similar stuff through the years

It was technically 2 seasons, but split up into half seasons shown a year apart and treated as separate seasons by both the production and network.

...basically 4 seasons.
