Definitely, Batman: The Brave & The Bold embodies so much of what drew me to comics and what I loved about reading them in the first place. While the show is generally light-hearted the team making the series have tackled serious subject matter with great skill as well; such as "The Last Patrol!" which featured the death of the Doom Patrol.

It's disappointing that comics in general nowadays have abandoned much of that. There are bright spots to be sure, I just wish it was the rule rather than the exception.

"Mitefall!" may be the best series finale that I've ever seen. Ambush Bug was a great surprise and was an excellent fit for the story.

I'm not 100% certain, but I think Ambush Bug may be one of the first Fourth Wall breaking comics characters, predating the better known Deadpool by nearly a decade. Now that would be an interesting crossover, Ambush Bug and Deadpool -- it's a crying shame that the powers that be at DC and Marvel haven't had any interest in cooperative ventures for awhile now.

This show has only risen in my esteem because as I dig into comics history characters featured prominently in this show like Plastic Man, Captain Marvel, Etrigan and the Metal Men become all-time favorites.

Seriously, forget Batman/Superman; what we need is a Metal Men movie!

... and I really need to go back and watch the entire series, because I only saw about two thirds of the episodes. I look at the wikipedia page and I've missed entire Plas and Cap'n Marvel centric episodes! I'm so deprived!

I know WB has been doing a lot of shameless crossovers as of late (Tom & Jerry/Willy Wonka ugh...). But this one is not without precedent. Scooby-Doo & batman had classic crossovers in the 70's and one segment of Batman TB&TB (thanks to Batmite), crossed them over again as well. They say nobody knows who the ultimate villain ins...but I'm throwing in my guess as Batmite is again the orchestrator of all of this . Cant wait for another great fun release.

WBHV even has a trailer out for the new movie too. I want to see this, for whatever reasons Hanna-Barbera never did a Scooby-Doo & Superfriends movie back when HB did the New Scooby-Doo Movies (the second season of that series overlapped with the first season of Superfriends in 1973) and this movie looks it will fill that empty niche quite nicely.

The Scooby DTV movies also seem to have a better track record overall, compared with other WB series of this type, so I'm all for Scooby and the gang to meet any number of classic characters.

Too bad it is DVD only. I would buy it if it was BD.

Of course, it will probably be "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" just like the rest of DC's animated movies from the last five years.

^ Have you not seen the Adam West Batman animated films? Those are amazingly fun. I agree for the most part on the mainline DC Animated Universe films, especially since they are using the new 52. Once they move away from that, hopefully things will get better. Also since B&TB has nothing to do with that other series of films, I have full confidence in it.
