[quote="Lynette Rice and James Hibberd of EW.com"][color=black]Yabba dabba do, Seth MacFarlane will finally achieve his dream! The mastermind behind Family Guy will reboot the classic animated series The Flintstones for Fox.

Fox execs made the announcement at the network’s presentation today in New York. The show will go in production this fall for a 2013 launch. “One of the first things I ever drew was Fred Flintstone,â€

No. I loved the Flintstones,I don't want to see them destroyed by this ass. I don't need to hear Fred refer to Rubik's cubes or hear Barney make an anti-semetic joke or see Bamm Bamm and Dino beat each other bloody.

I thought most people were over this one trick pony.

If it's "by" him in the same way American Dad is (that is, other people are really in charge) then I'm okay with it.

Have you seen those stop motion Flintstones commercials for Fruity/Coco Pebbles? They look great.

PS- With the Looney Tunes and now The Flintstones with new shows I hope Popeye isn't far behind. There are entirely too many kids going around who don't know who Popeye is!

Well --Seth MacFarlane has already mined H-B's Wait Till Your Father Gets Home to serve as the skeleton for Family Guy.

I don't really have much faith in MacFarlane for this -- he's had his own opportunities to create a show that wasn't like FG and has chosen not to.

Just maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised -- hopefully.

"Seth McFarlane wouldn't know how to wipe his ass if he didn't see the Simpsons do it first."- Gilbert Gottfried.

Seth McFarlane sucks.

Seth McFarlane + Flintstones = OH F**K NO! :x

OK maybe I'm old school, having grown up when the original series was on the air. But McFarlane is the LAST person on earth I would want to see doing an "update" of the franchise. There are some things that if you tried to change what they are, they aren't what you started with, not even close. I give you the GINO film as a prime example. Unless I am completely wrong about the talent that exists in Seth McFarlane, this will be nothing but FINO to me.

Now excuse me, I'm going to Netflix and see if they have A Man Called Flintstone.

I'd be fine if this never happens. I mean, I'd be curious to see it, but I don't think this would be the best route.
