If you're not familiar with Sir Terry Pratchett's series of humorous fantasy novels set on the Discworld then I envy you: you have such an incredible world to discover. Pratchett's writing is so enjoyable it can distract you from just how damn good (on a literature level) they are.
My, as well as many other's, favorite character is Death. You know: thin fellow, carries a scythe. He performs the much needed function of grim reaping and often wonders just why mortals fear him so much when without him the world would descend into chaos. He's fond of curry and adores cats and his horse, Binky.
Imagine my suprise at the rumor, well a little more than a rumor, that the team of Ron Clements and Jon Musker (The Great Mouse Detective, The Little Mermaid, Alladin, and The Princess and the Frog) are tackling the 4th Discworld novel (and first centered on the Death character) Mort as a traditionally animated feature film.

I think this could be pretty special. I mean, these guys have made 5 films, 3 are excellent and the other 2 aren't half bad. It was only a matter of time before Discworld came to the big screen, the novels are an institution in Britain and have a following everywhere - and they're filled with just so many nifty characters and situations that it's obvious someone smart enough would capitalize on the wealth of material there.
