THE DEMON OF MOUNT OE 1960

Despite the fact that THE DEMON OF MOUNT OE had a high budget and the production was was visually striking production.The movie is an in color production with colorful look to it. The film has quite an impressive cast as well including Shintaro Katsu, Raizo Ichikawa, and Kojiro Hongo. But despite all that the DEMON OF MOUNT OE has going for it, it remains a truly obscure production on both sides of the atlantic. This was released early in Shintaro Katsu's career (before he went on to fame with Zatoichi). Here Katsu plays one of the Samurai tasked with hunting down the Demon of the title. Not any easy task however, since this demon has shape changing abilities. The demon is kind of like a mutant that is famous today in pop culture. Sometimes the demon looks like a big bull, and sometimes it resembles a spider. Other times it takes human appearance and has some fun with the local villagers.
