It's amazing how this film broke out to such an extent in the US. It feels like anyone into cult or genre movies knows of it now, and in my experience I've turned several people onto it who have in turn turned others onto it.

I love that both the original Japanese poster and the American poster (produced decades later) are both iconic.

This is a movie on my re-watch list. I wasn't crazy about it the first time, but I'm more curious to watch it again having learned more about it and its production...maybe give me a new perspective.

There's a danger of illuminating the opaque in art, but I found the behind the scenes feature on Criterion's release super interesting, and enhanced my appreciation for the film.
