I've got to say, Megalon's design in this looks amazing! A fantastic blend of his classic look while also looking badass and new. With the live-action short this year seemingly only featuring Jet Jaguar, I'm glad that everyone's favourite giant cockroach hasn't been forgotten (especially since its his name in the title)!

What a delightful surprise! New Megalon design is fantastic.

Hell yeah! Megalon looks excellent, if maybe a bit more like Alien Baltan.

I watched it on the Godzilla Fest 2023 livestream but it was pretty pixelated and the audio was really bad, so I'm gonna have to watch it again here as it'll undoubtedly be better. But I loved the new takes on Megalon and his attacks! Not to mention some other really cool things that I'm looking forward to seeing again!

Feel like this crew should be put in charge of a Godzilla video game. The crazy fighting moves (a reference to Godzilla's arsenal of special moves in the '70s) would make for a fun fighting game.

... also; Gemstone Godzilla has... five fingers?! I actually kinda like this change.

That's not something I noticed either, but I'm not averse to it! And yeah, implementing this new "atomic punch" move into a Godzilla fighting game would be too good of an opportunity to pass up! The PS4 Godzilla and Gigabash both did a great job of including some of his crazier moves, and this would be great to see in a new one for sure. Also, please can we have a new Godzilla game soon? Please?

Toho have also added English subtitles to this now too! They're a bit Engrishy, but they get the job done, and add some nice context to certain scenes.

This Gemstone short is so much fun! This is the best one yet.

It's a little jarring to see live actors in one of these Gemstone shorts for the first time. I thought being completely computer-animated made them unique, whereas this new short is closer to where Toho currently is with their feature-length Godzilla movies (live actors and CGI monsters). While a Gemstone-produced Godzilla video game would be something special, I'd really like to see them produce a feature-length, fully computer-animated Godzilla movie.

Godzilla seems more like a Dragon Ball Z character than ever in this short, with his glowing-blue nuclear punch, but I guess that sensibility makes this take on Godzilla true to the Heisei Series.

Superb. I thought the live-action integration worked well, since it mainly went for Shin-style handheld cinematography that can be pulled off on a tight budget.

Megalon's new design is great, but what really surprised me was the body language. He carries himself with a confident, almost regal swagger that makes him much more threatening. Godzilla's atomic punch was a neat addition too.
