So apparently this will be an actual TV animated special. The Godzilla in the show will be accurate to the one in the movie. WEIRD.

Apparently the sound effects and such will be accurate to the movie - maybe the first time we'll hear 'em.

So can we assume that this Godzilla will have blue breath?

Is Crayon Shin Chan still pretty popular in Japan?

Aaaand I just saw the commercial for this on TV, and of course they used the thin and tinny mid-Showa era roar...I'm gonna be really disappointed if that's the one they went with for the movie, too.

That roar coming out of this design is a farce.

So is this the first time the Godzilla has been seriously animated? Not like that chibi Godzilland stuff. Because I always thought, based on some of the unused designs of some of the monsters (MecahG'93 I'm looking at you), a Godzilla anime would almost be a great idea.

^Well, that was what they said as part of their ballyhoo. I took them for their word, but then I thought: how much did Toho actually give them to work with? Did Toho actually give the some great access into the production? Maybe they just studied the trailer and had some pictures of the maquette and a few pointers?

All guesses. Since that was the same roar from the trailer I just thought it might be from the trailer!

And I am totally O.K. with the roar.

I really like how the new design was simplified for the show -

It would make a great toy.

Don't know, sounds fine to me, after all this is the most iconic Godzilla roar.
