As for phrase after watching Evangelion Anno could have really gone further out then this. Everything I read so far is a new take on Godzilla but not drastically different from what has alrrady been established with the character.

We've gotten multiple origin stories, we have multiple little Godzillas. Egg laying. Additional creatures of the same species. Dinosaurs. We have angry ghosts. constant canon resets. Godzilla may be Godzilla... but Godzilla changes film to film. Sometimes in ways that don't fit with our view of Godzilla.

^ Like Dorats or Monks turning into King Ghidorah instead of coming from space? Or Mechagodzilla being a cyborg built on Godzilla's bone? The series has taken liberties with more than just Godzilla...and just because it doesn't fit your view of Godzilla doesn't negate anything in that iteration, or an even give them pause from changing it in the very next film, which they probably will given the last 20 years

Does anyone actually have the source for these rumors or can they be verified in any way? The only thing I gathered is that they might be from a 4chan thread...

The rumors are supposedly from the guy who got the early Godzilla 2014 script. Another user in TK was posting the same rumors a couple of months back. Snowden is apparently posting the rumors on some exclusive site and users just copied and pasted it to 4chan.

Anyways I don't think Godzilla Resurgence's changes to the Godzilla chracter is comparable to GINO at all.

If Godzilla's design was leaked in advance. If the art book was already posted. If we have already seen toys and merchandising for this film...how the HELL can these rumors be even close to true? It sounds like people are continuing to run with these Kaiju A and B rumors from the Bandai announcement, coupled with some light trolling, and the red tipped tail, and inventing these crazy conspiracy stories to explain everything. When anyone asks for details in that Tohokingdom thread, the answer is: "I heard from a friend of a friend!"

....why the hell are we wasting effort talking about these statements as if they are true.

^Well, the Kaiju A & B listing is more than a rumor. It's an actual listing for products that will be released. I believe they were also priced, right?

I get the impression that the military's assault on Godzilla that's glimpsed in all of the ads could be one of the all-time great Godzilla vs. military battles.

When I think of the best sequences of armed forces taking on Godzilla, I think of King Kong vs. Godzilla, Mothra vs. Godzilla, The Return of Godzilla, Godzilla vs. Biollante, and Godzilla 2000. I think Shinji Higuchi has what it takes to add Godzilla: Resurgence to that list.

As far as I can remember, they were referring to Bandai re-releases of exisitng figures. There has literally been no other piece of evidence to point at any other monsters being in this film.


This is exactly how conspiracies work. Instead of look at the overall picture, people are taking a look at small things that stand out and hyper focusing on those items. Instead of it being, "THE BULLET THAT KILLED JFK WAS STILL INTACT!!!" or "JET FUEL CAN'T MELT STEEL BEAMS!!!" It's people focusing on this one marketing item and weird things about the design.

I consider Zilla Jr a Godzilla even though 98 was a bad version.
