With all the negativity and fruitless speculation and general neurosis we fans usually engage in I'm making a thread soley for good vibes.

This is the good vibes thread.

Just think about it: we've all loved Godzilla, most since childhood, and just when everything seemed to winding down for the big guy (at least for the time being) we have a major motion picture headlined by a promising new talent. We have news of multiple comic book series coming from some of the collest names in the industry. And when the movie comes near we'll probably get all sorts of neat goodies - not that there's a shortage on Godzilla merch right now.

It's a good time to be fan. So let's be thankfull. Raise a glass in toast to our big, irradiated, prehistoric beastie! Long live the king!

I haven't watched a Godzilla movie for the first time since December 2005 when Sony released Final Wars on DVD. I'm looking forward to the feeling of seeing a new Godzilla movie, and on the big screen!

I'm glad Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures are the ones who took this initiative. There are too many studios like Fox that usually don't show any respect for the source material of their own franchises, much less licensed properties.

It's funny, because I think what really makes us lucky with this project is the fact that GINO'98 exists. There's an existing blueprint for just how badly a Hollywood adaptation of Godzilla can end up, and LP/WB are aware of it. I think that bodes well for the new movie.

Also, Monsters was "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!" awesome. They chose the perfect director for this.
