I actually hope that there is a scene where a nuke is dropped on Godzilla and maybe the other monster as well. America is so used to the idea of "kill it with nukes" that sometimes it doesn't stop to think about what...complections will arise I.E. fallout.

So I thought it would be cool to have at least one scene where failure after failure has caused them to become desperate enough to use nukes only to fail and even worse make Godzilla and maybe the other monster stronger then they already were. It could show them looking at Godzilla after the blast thanks to a satellite, see his body is torn in shards and everyone is cheering only to watch in shock as his body grows back parts, grows slightly bigger thanks to the fallout and Godzilla opens his eyes, gets up and keeps on walking like nothing ever happend.

After that the army comes up with one last desperate plan to lure them together and have the two monsters fight and hope they kill each other or that the winner is weak enough to be killed by rockets.

I'm not sure Hollywood has the balls to do that nowadays in a post 9/11 world. Specifically dropping a nuke on US soil anyway. Other countries, I'm sure it would be fine.

Not to mention Terminator 3. That's about as nukey as you can get.

I would love to nuke him...HOWEVER the result would be very ID4-ish..."Target Remains" You see a leveled Houston (if I remember) and the space ship unharmed. The scene basically would be repeated in Godzilla. We do not need any comparos to D&E....

Now it could be avoided somewhat if at the end of the movie, Godzilla remains and is weak after a battle and it was "determined" that while Godzilla fed off nuclear energy, the amount of energy released at one time from a nuke could still destroy him, that might work. THEN you show the location about a month after, crews in special suits out surveying the damage including a charred "corpse" shell of Godzilla they presume is dead....ground shakes, the shell cracks to show a still healing Godzilla but looking a bit larger and slightly different in look (facial or dorsal differences) that echo the changes over the series history and letting him further mutate and progress....that could be cool!!!

At least I think so.

Not to get political, but since terrorists are very mobile it would be highly stupid to attack them with a weapon capable of leveling everything from a city to a state. We've been having enough problems just using targeted drones.

But anyway...

Post 9/11, I don't think it's the nukes that make people uncomfortable so much as the whole notion of "watching massive destruction for pleasure" that Godzilla is based on. But I think we've moved past that (Transformers 1 & 2, 2012). Let's face it, human beings like seeing $hit blow up! Provided of course it's just a movie. Kinda' like we like watching serial killers, mass murderers, war, guns and other assorted violence...in movies.[/b]
