Well, the global warming fad seems to slowly be dying down so I'm hopeful we'll escape that being part of the film.

I like the complacency angle. It'd be sort of cool to treat the first film more or less as fact, but then show that after the fact, silly movies about Godzilla befriending us and fighting aliens were made, as well as a massive toy line, etc.

Well, yeah, I just meant that people are getting tired of hearing about it, as far as the fad wearing out... and polls suggest people are starting to think its not such an issue. WE77964 summed up my scientific understanding of the issue pretty well.

So instead, the new movie should be about an oil spill. Or a mosque in New York. Or something else more trendy than global warming!
