I enjoy the strangeness for what it is. Absolutely, and on its own terms.
That said, if this fella has some form of personality or mood disorder, or is just extremely zealous...
whatever. He's got a dream and passion, and while many of us hold this in common with him, he also has an apparent DRIVE to attempt to do something about it, which too many folks lack altogether.
I don't want to come across like I'm soap-boxing. I have worked in mental healthcare since '04 and I'm about to start grad school in the Fall to pursue a career as a therapist. Truthfully I take everything with a smile and grain of salt, both the "sane" and the "insane" (though, those are both
legal terms, believe it or not). It just appeals to me that this dude is doing something active and, for all practical purposes, constructive with himself. We all want to be SOMEBODY, I suppose.
Again, the quirkiness appeals to me, as does his humanity and vulnerability (maybe that's just the psych major talkin). I feel bad that his endeavors might be (and most likely will be) wasted, but he's got something to really believe in that lights a fire under his azz everyday. If that is an end result, the pursuit of satisfaction from taking an action vs stagnating, then the ends justify the means IMO.
If a severed head shows up in his basement and he blogs about it, I'll retract all this mushiness BTW. In the mean time, I'm gonna get a kick out of his asymmetrical logic!
