Eh... nothing new. IMDB is hardly the reliable source.

Well, as has been said the "imdb" is not a 100% dependable resource. What we would need would be an official confirmation from the film makers themselves. What we have is the "imdb" data and an e-mail response from a worker at Electric Farm Ent., although just an intern, verifying that it is in [pre-]production for a 2011 date to go on. Who knows where that person got their information, so basically folks take it as you will:

I sympathise....I still appreciate the information being brought up...I'm just one of those people who kinda hope this film is never made. Want to make it clear, I'm not shooting the messenger. Thanks for the heads up.

I just saw Monsters vs Aliens this weekend and it was pretty cool seeing a movie using RealD's polarized lens system [woohoo no red & blue lenses].

And while I'm not exactly encouraged by this particular movie's story so far -- I do like the general concept of a Godzilla movie in 3D [with a system like RealD's]. A good 3D movie would be a great way for Toho to reintroduce Godzilla to the movie going public.

Agreed....Godzilla would be awesome to see in 3D....just not sure if this film is the one that needs to showcase that aspect...I don't have much faith in the people or idea behind this film.

To be honest, 3D may make the effects WORSE... as the sets are likely to appear much more like toys and miniatures in 3D than in 2D. This would be similar to how HD, while making for an improved image quality, doesn't help the effects in these fims.

The filmmakers will have to go above and beyond anything they've done EVER to improve the quality of the miniatures and suitmation effects in order to offset what 3D is likely to do to it.

Ken Hulsey found another nugget:

We'll see.

Ken Hulsey pulled his post that was posted this week on the project containing the link to the article on Keith Melton's alleged involvement. Meanwhile, Brett Homenick sent a query to Kenji Okuhira, the film's producer, on May 19 on whether or not the project is on and he specifically asked if Melton was involved, to which he replied the same day, "Thanks for your inquiry. It is not true, I am afraid. I hope this helps." I sent Keith Melton a query this morning on the article that Hulsey found. If I receive a reply worth noting, I'll advise. Looks like this is another dead-end.

Armand, this is explained pretty easily. Melton was attached to GODZILLA 3-D from 2004 until 2007 or so... he was named as a co-director on the now-defunct G3-D site and mentioned in a later press release by Kerner. Melton also directed a 2004 IMAX documentary called MYSTIC INDIA, and the press materials for that film mentioned Melton's then-current involvement in GODZILLA 3-D.

Ken Hulsey found an online article about a museum in Boston that is currently screening MYSTIC INDIA, and that article repeats Melton's credits from 4 to 5 years ago but does not mention more recent credits like MUMMIES. Since Kenji Okuhira has said that Melton is not involved with GODZILLA 3-D at this time, all this recent scrambling was most likely based on information that was available long ago and is now years out of date.

Keith, most likely. The place where Hulsey got the information from was probably regurgitating(sp?) some old news from somewhere. You should also note that the date of the article (where Hulsey got his info from) was dated May 28, 2009.
