Yeah, that's a bit better.
But one thing I'm tired of is "military vs monsters" films. Scratch that. I'm sick of them, period. They did too many of these in the Millennium films. I want to see films more like Mothra vs Godzilla and Ghidrah, the Three-Headed Monster, where we watch how normal people with normal lives deal with the monsters. Yes, I know there was a lot of military stuff in Mothra vs Godzilla, but they weren't our main characters.
And I think the anti-hero idea for Godzilla is the best bet. Don't make him evil and don't make him a goodie goodie. But this way Godzilla can alternate between being a good guy and a bad guy. I think a new series should take the Showa films as it's template. Build a universe out of it and for the love of God don't kill off the enemy monsters in every film. Let some of them stick around so it's possible to build up a roster of characters. And don't overpower Godzilla. It adds some drama to the battles if your not sure what the outcome is going to be, which is one thing the Heisei series got right.
And respect King Ghidora for the crying out loud. Do something great with him. He deserves it.

I think we see eye to eye here with the exception of the idea for my first film. I personally just want a honest to god horror Godzilla film...but whats more...I want a Godzilla films that fully embraces its message...a film which tries to showcase the horror of war, environmental degradation and most importantly atomic weapons.
But yes...this idea only works for a single film...anything more and only the masochist will show up.
I agree Godzilla shouldn't be too powerful, the Godzilla I imagine for what is essentially a remake of G 54 would be really powerful...the destroyer of cities...the atomic weapon given a tangeable shape...but the subsequent Godzilla being much further from the atomic explosion would have only a fraction of the original's power...the beam would be much more reminiscent of the misty-ish 60's breath weapon than the lazer of the recent films.
Most of all I think we both agree to a return to form...big grand outlandish scif-fi epics like the ones from Toho's earlier years....and honestly in this fictional series of films I envision (probably 6 or so) at least one would only feature Godzilla for a few minutes...in more of a cameo appearance...just imagine for instance if Godzilla appeared for a little period of time in Atragon...it's kinda like what marvel is trying to do with their movies...create a big fun universe full of possiblities.

I think we need a sequel to GODZILLA VS. MEGALON, but they'd need to make his eyes a little bigger this time.
