It's been three years since Yoshimitsu Banno's proposed IMAX Godzilla film was first announced. SciFi Japan takes a look at the various incarnations of the project, including a previously unrevealed first draft that has to be read to be believed!

Confirm what info? When I run an article on SFJ (as opposed to chatting on a forum like MZ) I try to keep the speculation to a minimum and stick to the facts. I haven't been in contact with Kerner (they haven't responded to inquiries from other people) but the first story treatment you quoted and other info in the article came from sources in Japan who are/were attached to this project so they're definitely legit.

I am not doubting you, I just thought you could find out more if you talked to Kerner. Just asking.... Stranegely enough I tried calling their contact number just to see what happened...but apparentlly the number doesn't work either meaning that 1. This is total crap or 2. Like the company I work for there are "ISSUES".
The Deathla mushroom sounds very interesting and remarkably sounds like the life cycle of some slime molds I studied back in college.
But Keith very good article and thank you for the information.

That was an interesting read - I haven't really been following Godzilla 3D beyond catching the odd bit here and there.
Is the Godzilla 3D to the Max website you referred to in the article still around?

I could do without more of Godzilla flying.. To steal a quote from MST3K when they were laughing at the Godzilla tail slide of doom in G vs. Megalon - It just isn't as funny the second time.
And ditto on the 9/11 references.. Seems to me a bit out of place in what's primarily a kid's movie talking about pollution.
Still, great read Kieth.

For what it's worth - someone going by the nom de plume Boba Fat sent a link to your article about Godzilla 3D to AICN. "Moriarity" posted the link and recommended that interested parties should read it.

Anyone heading that way remember not to feed the Talkbackers - their respsonses get on your nerves real fast [which is why I've never bothered to register there]...

We`ll just have to wait till Feb. to see what Kerner reports, but what is interesting is that when you think this movie is dead, it comes back.
