I like Mothra, but I think she did appear perhaps once too often in the Millennium Series. I honestly don't think I would have missed her if she hadn't appeared in Godzilla: Final Wars, because her beef with Gigan's just one of those little plot threads that gets a little lost in the whole madness of the piece and clutters it up a little more.
However, I think that Yumiko Shaku has appeared in too few Godzilla movies, dagnabbit!
Anyway, getting back to the topic itself, I personally as a fan of both Godzilla and Gamera actually wouldn't want to see Godzilla vs. Gamera, even if Toho and Kadokawa went ahead with it. The way I see it is this: if Godzilla wins, you tick off the Gamera fans. If Gamera wins, you tick off the Godzilla fans. If it's a tie, you tick off both parties because they want to see their favourite monster win. If another foe shows up and Godzilla and Gamera team up to battle it, then it just feels like a cop-out.
Actually, I'd like to see as the first entry of the next series perhaps a movie where Godzilla's all on his lonesome and out against the world or a more sort-of back to basics approach. Hey, if it worked for Batman Begins and Casino Roayle...
