Well, I mean even here it's amazing that people still go to theatres. There arte record prices for tickets; the yummy goodies, for lack of better termage, are over priced; and people can download the film over the net or wiat for the dvd that has extras and what not. That's what's happening here, and according to people I know-who are Japanese, hell I will be officially marrying my j-girl on Sunday-tickets are high there (min is like 18 bucks a ticket) and anyway due to internet piracy and the rise of home theatre systems people would rather stay at home in their undies than go to a crowded, overpriced theatre.

I always wanted to see Godzilla as a kick ass anime.
And not like Pokemon. more like cowboy bebop, or some gundam.
That would be cool.

I like to look at The Animatrix as an example of how far these could go.....Different styles, different approaches....Pretty much like the entire Showa/Heisi/Milennium run, they ran a whole gamut, from dark and serious to surreal to comical and childish, with even less limitations.
