I'm excited, but the new trailer also makes the design look even goofier. The face doesn't look as bad as the poster, but now the rest of his proportions are really messed up. God, that tail is awful.

That said, the CGI Godzilla looks much better than I could have hoped. My guess is most of the effects aren't done, so the more dynamic movement shots aren't shown cause it's not ready. If the CGI model can blend in with the same consistency throughout the entire film, I'll be happy. The helicopter CGI is inexcusable though. That was "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!".

So given his current color scheme I am having a hard time believing he will be blasting off blue atomic breath. I don't have a problem with that if it is orange or something but to me blue doesn't really blend well with red. Maybe I'm wrong.

For those who've been clamoring for a new trailer for the last few months, well, you know the old saying: "Be careful what you wish for."

The positive? Well, I like his dorsal fins, which are a very nice return to the true and proper maple leaf design. As for everything else about the design, I agree with Ed G in that instead of making him genuinely scary, it appears that they just went the cheap route and made him as butt ugly as possible...Of course, most of the usual "Everything Godzilla is good!" crowd will predictably eat this up, but sorry, I'm not digging the "Walking Dead-Goji" all that much...

I don't know...There are some cool FX scenes to be sure. But I just hope the morbid sense of hopelessness doom & gloom that pervades NGE isn't carried over to this film. I mean the tone of the original film was very serious, but never defeatist.

If you look at the neck there's exposed muscle tissue , so I really think that this creature is regenerating not decaying.

Well they have adopted some techniques we use in the west as far as filming so that is cool.

Well this looks great! I really hope this gets some kind of limited release or one-night event this fall.

Not saying their aren't goofy looking shots, the tail movements looked awkward at best and will hopefully be better animated, though I'm fine with the length as I was in GvB, but overall this trailer was awesome to me.
The atmosphere of the film seems dead serious. Godzilla himself like the threat I wish American Audiences would have been better introduced to. Not saying I dislike hero godzilla, he was a huge part of my childhood. But he's menacing and not in the cowardly GINO way, but in the GMK meets G85 meets GvD way. You're meant to see that he's a monster, created by man in a tormented form. I think the music sounds excellent and really adds to the atmosphere. I fully expect this film to be better than GMK (no knock to Kaneko but I found Higuchi was an equally integral part to the Gamera Trilogy) and the best Godzilla film since the 80's. Maybe my expectations aren't realistic, but I think this will keep audiences on the edge of their seat if it premieres in the US in a way that G2K could not (as campy fun as it was at time).

Radiation poisoning really doesn't make any sense. It sounds like a good anti-nuke message, but it doesn't work well with Godzilla.

Well, so far so far, the reactions over the web are more or less what I expected, some love it, some hate it, and some doesn't know/care.

His tail.... his tail! It's so distracting in this trailer. It's like it's a separate entity. It's like it's playing the floor is lava. It's like a slow giant wacky waving inflatable tube man... attached to a god of death and destruction.
