I dunno, call me crazy but I really LOVE the super-spiky Godzilla designs. The spiky texture of his scales in those designs strikes me as a really cool derivation of the weird charred texture the skin of the original suit possessed. Much more interesting than the Heisei or GMK (or Winston) designs' much more toned down scales. Of course, the design really depends on the movie - a Godzilla portrayed more heroically needs a suitably regal design, more along the lines of Kiryugoji, while a spikier, more extreme version would better suit "Godzilla the Destroyer." I'm comfortable with either, though I don't have this deep-seated desire to see a OMFGHARDCORE Godzilla film, nor do I need a dark film to enjoy myself. Hardly.

If that's the route they take, however, I'm not gonna lie: My fingers will be crossed for a spiky Godzilla. My etching I printed yesterday is about what I'd want, I think.

Sigh...I hate how these things keep rising again and again from the dead...this is NOT from the new film and is a rather old image and yet what do we have here...AICN is saying this could be the new Godzilla

I doubt this is true (this "design" has been floating around for well over a year....I call TOTAL BS on this story). If by some chance this butt ugly design is what they go with in the film, then I will have lost total, complete interest in this project....

I sure hope you're right ebirahsmeg1. This particular design has been on the net almost 4 years now. I didn't like it then and I don't like it now. One thing I forgot to mention is that the article stated that Godzilla will be man-in-suit with CGI enhancements.

I just have a hard time believing they will go rubber suit. I would prefer that, but I'm not holding my breath.
