No futuristic Godzilla. Bleh. I just want a traditional Godzilla setting with some new flair. That is all.

And please, no concept monster rejects. No Bagan. No Dogolas, who in my opinion is one of the worst monster designs I've seen in a long time.

Maybe I'm just being scrooge here, but I just want a traditional kaiju flick. I can deal with CGI (if it's good).

DAM was supposed to be the last film in the series advancing the storyline some 30 years into the future and ending there. A series based on a future Godzilla may not work to start a new series.

I just read that Toho is going to make a G film in 2015. Big breaking news!

While Toho could try for future setting again, I feel like they just did that with GFW (mutant supersoldiers, flying battleships, handheld plasma guns, etc. etc.). If the story isn't going to be set in the present, I'd prefer something set in the past - THAT is something we haven't really seen yet. A movie set in, say, 1966 but made today? Sweet.

I think the odds are that this new Japanese film will get a theatrical release. Each new series always began that way. I think the first one starts the same way and the sequels will go direct-to-dvd after that. Question is who releases the dvd's, Sony or WBs.
