Personally I'd rather see Bay direct a Godzilla film than those Devlin and Emmerich hacks...at least we'd get lots of action, destruction, and BIG explosions!

Yes I know, I was just throwing my hat into the ring along with everybody else. Honestly though, there are people who will complain no matter WHO directs it, or how it turns out. That's just part of the awesomeness of fandom.

Well that's what I've been saying...Where the Wild Things Are (Hopefully Toho has seen the trailers for this and that's one of the reasons they sought them out) 300, The Dark Knight, heck even Superman Returns was at least an attempt to do something new with a stale franchise...the kid..the effects..(I'm one of the ones who think they should have put more new things in that movie..it was kinda a remake of the original Superman)
Hopefully they decide to do either a fun sci fi Godzilla film ala GTTHM or Godzilla vs The Thing...or a loose and dark remake of the orignal (shut up don't even start anyone here)...
My money is that the more viable of those options will be be the sci fi blockbuster where Godzilla fights another kaiju or two

There have been one too many comments on the "2012" thing that (perhaps even jokingly) have said "why fear good effects?" or "arent godzilla movies just supposed to be effects romps?"
