I could barely watch any without twitching. I'm a big fan of kaiju films but the Mothra trilogy was too much. I think it was most due to the dubs, though.

A Godzilla flick played out like a Gamera flick is hardly indicative of a master understanding.
Does anyone else listen to Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy" and think of "Save the Earth?"

Mothra has been seriously overused. I'd like to see at least 2 Godzilla movies in a row without so much as a mention of Mothra.

I'm against Godzilla vs. Gamera ever happening, purely because a draw would be a cop-out, and the fans who are pro one monster over the other will whine if their kaiju loses.

Really, Godzilla would have to win, assuming it isn't a draw. You can argue one is stronger than the other in various incarnations, but Godzilla by far is the better known with the bigger fanbase. Having him lose to a mostly unknown (outside of kaiju fandom) giant turtle would be a horrible decision.

Given the right reasons, it isn't necessarily bad to revive a dead topic . . . praising/panning directors and slinging insults at one another isn't one off them. Can this thread be locked or even better, deleted?
