New Toho Godzilla Series after Legendary

I'll believe it when I see it. Toho making a new movie due to renewed interest generated by the LP sounds like something a fanboy would write.

Honestly, this does NOT sound legit. Why make a new movie when the LP stuff is already earning them money? And 2016 is awfully soon for a new movie (thats just over a year from now). I think we're being played for fools.

You'll have to forgive me if I dont have much faith in Toho right now. I dont see them outdoing or even matching LP's movie with something they're gonna scrape together in just one year.

As I did with LP's movie, I wont be 'boarding the hype train" till we start seeing something. Seriously, I am so sick of the "all aboard the hype train" talk. What's there to hype? It's just words, right now. This news doesnt make me wanna jump up and down in my seat; i'm just like "oh, ok, that could be a thing in like a year."

And this is off the heels of the LP movie. Are you guys really that hyped for something that will undeniably be of lesser quality than that?

There is NO WAY this can match Legendary's film. Really, it *IS* a cash-in on Toho's part. With that said, I am excited. I just hope they keep it suitmation and allow Hollywood to keep their CGIzilla.

As long as its not super rushed, I'm totally down for two Godzilla series' going at once.

With two Godzilla movies, a Kong movie, Higuchi's two Attack on Titan movies, and Pacific Rim 2 all in development. Jurassic World next
summer if you want to count that.... We're going through a miniature giant monster boom and I couldn't be happier.

I just hope they use practical effects for the new Toho film. Not that I have anything against the CG Godzilla, but it would really help separate the two movies, and it would only make sense for the Japanese series to keep with the tradition, while the American series continues to use the more expensive, cutting edge, up to date techniques.

I am cautious with this new movie. I'm not excited, I'm more excited with Legendary's sequel. I am curious though. I want to see what he'll look like this time. If Toho goes full CGI, this could be funny.

Toho can't match the effects of Legendary, but I'm certain they can make a more entertaining film.

I do agree that given Toho's past record of how they treat the franchise, there is plenty cause for concern. Since Toho has new people in charge these days, hopefully they'll take their time, make sure the effects are great, and be more open to original ideas instead of recycling the same monsters. Let Legendary re-establish Mothra, KG, and Rodan for the new generation, and let Toho do something new and wild. If Godzilla is with Mothra, KG and Rodan in BOTH new films, I'll freaking scream.

I'm afraid Toho will over saturate the market with Godzilla again. Part of the reason for the hype of Godzilla 2014 is because Godzilla had been gone for so long. We know there's a sequel coming, but I'm afraid Toho could hurt Godzilla 2 by having their own movie, and that movie sucking.
