News of Hollywood's Godzilla/Kong movie universe and Gamera's surprise return have really taken the wind out of the sails of Shin Godzilla's hype train, at least for the moment, so I just wanted to say: I'm still very excited! They must be knee deep in production at the moment. Can't wait for a steady drip of news, teaser images, etc.

Ah, read the Gormaru Island post about the actress revealing she's finished her shooting. What interests me is the rumor of something new being revealed during the Godzilla birthday festival thing which takes place over the next few days.

I was crossing my fingers on some kind of teaser. Tokyo Movie Festival and Godzilla 61st have passed without much hype. Principal filming is at least completed!

Gormaru Island posted this Godzilla merch with the (rumored) Shin Goji Silhouette. You can't tell much from it...except the design looks pretty traditional assuming this is legit.

Not a lot to go on, as it's stylized and sketchy, but it does show that they're not gonna try to reinvent the wheel.

This is where we find out we never actually *SEE* Godzilla in the movie and the entire thing is from the point of view of the human characters stuck in the city as its attacked, but never in Godzilla's direct course or point of view. Think Cloverfield... without the POV or monster appearances.

^I hear they actually found a real Godzilla to be in the film and Higuchi's 'hybrid' effects are actually gonna be used to create the humans, who'll be a combination of CGI and puppetry.

This would kind of like spending millions of dollars to essentially recreate the "Slurpasaurus" concept Irwin Allen did in The Lost World. Though I wouldn't want to be the poor sucker that gets to staple the horns and dorsal plates onto a Komodo Dragon.

Apparently there was a screening of some footage for overseas markets... Also the films name is Godzilla Resurgence. I like it!
