The only hope I really have for this movie is due to the presence of Yoshimitsu Banno on the team. And even then I'm sure he wouldn't have enough pull to maintain the original design if the project started taking an odd direction.

Godzilla is more than a dinosaur. He's a mythological spirit, demigod, demon, whatever. Portraying him as a large t-rex with dorsal fins and fire breath would be cool but would miss the point completely. He needs character and personality, straight up.

Anyone else find it hard to believe LP bought the rights to Godzilla so they could make a movie monster who doesn't look,act,or sound like the real deal AFTER G98 was a huge failure?
