Besides, neither the story (nor I) said "it would help falling sales". It said (approximately) that this was of interest because of the poor performance of traditional Hollywood movies this past year, and the rise of the home theater. He is not the only person to say this, btw. A lot of studios and production companies and exhibitors are looking to everything from digital to 3D to bring people back to the theater. One of the most talked about stories at ShoWest earlier this year was about re-re-releasing the Original STAR WARS trilogy using a new 3D technology. Rumor has it that James Cameron has been holding off on ALITA until his 3D technology was in place.

So no point in bashing Banno for what seems to truly be industrywide interest in the technique.

Its a rollercoaster ride, not a feature film! IMO which is why I am pumped to see an IMAX Godzilla movie.

Banno was "banned"? I never heard that...I just though Toho persued other directors? It was the director of Godzilla vs Megalon who should have been banned!!!

Seriously though, I'm very happy to see this moving forward...with all it's fascinating landmarks, Vegas will be one cool stomping ground!

In fact, Banno could use this to his advantage to get more funding...from some of the ultra right wing fundamentalist groups here in the States! "Sin City Get's Demolished!"
