New Toho Godzilla Series after Legendary

I'm not even sure what a live action series would be about. Actually it'd probably just be a bunch of humans complaining about how Godzilla destroyed everything the whole season that gets cancelled half way thru. People like action we need action but live action cost to much which is why i suggest a cgi animated series.

Eh. GINO obviously didn't need to be successful. Its failure prompted Toho into bringing Godzilla out of retirement sooner than they had planned. If this fails, Toho doesn't have any of the pieces in place anymore to start Godzilla up again.

When they retired him in 1995 the plan had ALWAYS been to bring him back within 5-10 years. The delays on getting GINO done were what may have pushed things back, since GINO was originally slated for earlier than 1998. But had GINO succeeded and spun off a new franchise, Toho still was planning to eventually bring Godzilla back.

Right now, Toho has no plan to bring Godzilla back. They've even sold off a lot of their assets (like their water stage) that would allow them to do so.

Don't get me wrong. I hope it does some nice solid numbers at the box office. But there is that small, miniscule chance though.

I'm personally real into the idea of Toho picking up Godzilla again and seeing where they go with it, especially if this 2014 movie bombs(which I pray it doesn't). But I'm not expecting to see a Toho made Godzilla film anytime soon. I'd imagine that if this movie is a success, we should probably expect another sequel or two. If they do eventually pick it up again though, which I don't doubt that they will, I hope they can keep up. As much as I love the cheesiness of Godzilla films(whether intentional or not), sometimes it can be a tad bit overdone, to where the movie just becomes kind of a running joke. But hey, suits + miniature sets + toys blowing up? As long as it's not Godzilla Final Wars, I'm down for that. As far as the potential direction that they could take it in, I prefer to stick to the good ole "unintentional mad made radioactive force of nature" instead of the whole "alien created creature" or, "mythical monster of horrifying dreams and guilt" that GMK tried to go with. I prefer to keep things in that realm of humans abusing their power and paying for it when they're abuse of radiation, nature, or whatever creates a monster. Then you can go with that and add in aliens or do whatever you prefer.

Now, whether or not those movies would be a hit... Who knows. Us kaiju fans are a small group, and these films cater to a very niche crowd. Outside of us, I'd imagine Toho would aim their movies toward children, which makes sense, I just pray that if they ever make another Godzilla again that they don't go the route of Gamera The Brave...

Also, one more thing, I remember hearing about Toho saying that after GFW, they were going to being Godzilla back in about 10 years time. Obviously the Legendary film is going to be that comeback, but outside of that do we have an sort of indication that they'd ever want to do this again? I mean personally, I find it hard to imagine that no one would ever even want to take a crack at it again unless this 2014 movie jus completely bombs, but Godzilla himself is such an iconic character, I'd find it hard to not ever see him on screen again.

Then again it could be so good it inspires more than 2 sequels, maybe 4 sequels.

The could make a few spin-off movies for new monsters and then have Godzilla fight them in later movies.
