Remember when staff members for this movie were getting some swag with a silhouette of Godzilla on it? I think it was a bag or a mug or something.

I remember it's jaw looking a little more gaping than usual...

I've gone from actually liking this design to really almost hating it. He looks like a cracked out, barbequed muppet.

I mean how can people love a design whose mouth opens like a sock puppet?

This is supposed to be a terrifying Godzilla, but I don't think he's looked this silly since the 70s.

I don't know how much of the marketing stuff I'd believe though.

Also, not sure how he would get the script honestly.

He had a lot of OPINIONS in his posts. Lets wait for the final product..... Don't take anything at face value till you see it yourself. Don't care if you're "in the know".

I'm concerned by what we're hearing from insiders, but I'm not giving up on this movie yet. Ever since Anno was announced as writer/director, I've been expecting something dry. People who were anticipating this movie to be completely over-the-top bonkers haven't taken a hard enough look at Anno's previous work. Yes, he's done some weird and wacky stuff, but a frequent motif of his work has been to take a genre trope, put it under the microscope, and ask, "Given Cliched Situation X and Seemingly Familiar Character Y, what would really happen?" In the case of Godzilla, I see that as being: what political and logistical problems would the bureaucrats really have to contend with in handling an unprecedented crisis like a kaiju attack? That's a recipe for a dry script, and potentially a dull movie if mishandled. But Anno has a history of using reams of technical jargon to add weight to scenes, control pacing and build tension. He's a film-maker; this stuff might not work on the page, but that's doesn't mean it won't work once it's been shot and edited.

Frustrating news but reshoots can save a film so I'm still staying cautiously optimistic. Still have Ultraman Orb if this turns out badly.

I think it's a little of both. Silly out of context but potentially horrifying in context. I dig it either way, honestly.

From what i understand, and I have talked to some people in the know (though no one is letting the cat outta the bag). It looks like there two were two script originally. Higuchi and Anno had separate scripts and they amalgamated them. Issue was there have been several rewrites, so it could be any one of them that Jim got a hold of.

Moving right along, look at the face on Gojira's tail! That and the weird mouth (which is weird, in the pranked leaks involving Judas, Godzilla's jaw dislocated or similar when supposed Alphagon struck him- During the fight, the monster manages to hit Godzilla’s jaw and something happens, either the jaw is dislocated or gets horribly maimed by its “mole-like forelimbs") seems very unsettling. My predictions are:

We know about the Kaiju A and B figures that are released a month after the film.
Perhaps A is a fully regenerated Godzilla and B is some weird parasitic thing.
