I need to get caught up on this weird-ass puppet show. I'm not entirely sure it's not the best new Godzilla media of 2019!

I've never before been so unsure of what Toho's doing with the Godzilla character. I'm not sure they're sure either.

These types of crossovers are commonplace in Japanese pop culture. That Toho is having Godzilla, or at least alternate versions of Godzilla, pop up in some of these anime movies (themselves popular franchises) is just a result of the Godzilla brand being more popular.
