A "Serious" Godzilla This Time?

I think it's a safe bet that Legendary Pictures will choose to do a serious Godzilla film in the spirit of the original. If anyone's noticed, the tone of their Superman, Batman and Watchmen takes have been dark, light on the cheese and heavy on the drama. I have a feeling that this Godzilla will be a shocker with the same horror and despair displayed in the original. It will be a true restoration which is why I'm convinced Godzilla will go solo in the first film. Yes, there will be sequels this time.
