Okay, fiddled around with my comcast email account. I apparently didn't have it save spam emails, so we'll see what happens now. Hopefully that'll have fixed it but we'll see.

EDIT: Still doesn't seem to be working. I've whitelisted forum@scifijapan.com so it should pop through the filters.

Regarding login issues:
I'd locked down SFJ's .htaccess pretty tight many years ago. This could have been why it was refusing connections from certain IPs (hence why proxies also solved the issue for some.) I think this should be fixed now, but please let me know ASAP if you're still having trouble.

The forums are now running Tapatalk, an application which allows much improved forum access for Android, iOS and Windows Phone. The latest versions of the app cost a few $ while prior releases are now distributed for free.

I just want to say that I'm glad the Godzilla icons based on post count ranks are gone now. Please don't bring those back! It got pretty confusing seeing consecutive posts by multiple avatarless users all having the same Heisei Godzilla image under their usernames. I do like how our avatars now appear above our usernames, too.

Really digging the layout and smooth navigability of the new board. Hats off to Jim, Gene and all involved for their effort, and for pulling this off without having to start from scratch.

With the open registration, I changed my email from comcast to gmail and I'm finally getting notifications.

I just noticed you cant see pre-upgrade posts in the search engine. WTF

Not really a bug or a problem, but something I noticed: discussion topics now start new pages when they reach 15 posts, as opposed to the 25-post thread pages on the old board. This has caused existing threads to become longer than they were before. The current G'2014 thread used to be just over 100 pages long but it's now ballooned to 172 pages with the same number of posts.

Thanks for pointing that out, Ben. Should be back to 25 now.

Really liking all the changes and upgrades. Kudos to everyone involved. The move did catch me by surprise, but the more I navigate the forum and see the announcements, the more enthusiastic I am about the future of the board.

Are we getting those number of posts icon status pics back? Personally, I don't really miss them, but I wasn't one of the Burning G's running around here either.

Just curious, is there a reason why some of our avatars are scaled down to 80x80 pixels while others are scaled to 100x100?
