So, I'm trying to flesh out a my Dynamo Robo character. I'm still in early early pre-production. I'm still fleshing out a story. I've been doing some just various works and stuff seing what looks good and what I like. The comic is gonna be black and white (color is expensive), and the cover in color. I just don't know if I should cell shade (second pic) or airbrush (cover pic)

Here's a concept cover. I will more than likely use it for a cover.
I inked it on bristol pad, scanned it and colored it in photoshop.

Here's something I did completely in the computer today. I scanned a rough sketch and did everything else in photoshop. (The katakana is legit too, it's not just jibberish.)

For the hell of it I did a chibi version, but apparently (according to a friend) I didn't disort the proportion enough so it doesn't look like chibi.

I think its great you are doing this. One thing has me confused. Not to be a jerk, but I don't understand the katakana. The Robo part is absolutely correct, but the others spell out "dafuyaki"...maybe Iam missing something...but its not dynamo...

Yeah, on my other message board that I frequent, it was pointed out. The katakana font I used is so stylized those are hard to decipher, I'm working on a getting a new more recognizable font. I don't read japanese and every font I get is set up differently on the keyboard, so I have to go through the font letter by letter. It's a "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!".

Wow great ideas... I agree with Emkaiju with having he repent. That is a really original idea, good stuff, unless you want him to be a bad ass.

I prefer the airbrush version, gives it a more seirous look then the Zelda like cel shading.
