But that was a masking effect from this project here, I present to you Funko Godzilla like you never seen him before.

Not official design but gives me those vibes.

These Funkos were supposed to be a nod to the '54 suit but it didn't seem that way with me, so I took the law into my own hands and forced another Godzilla into submission!

Thought I do this custom step by step to show how I progress.

My next vision is Godzilla 1974 Electro-Magnetic version from Godzilla Vs. MechaGodzilla aka The Cosmic Monster.

First, you'll need pictured references. Take as many you need. Here I just need the face, dorsal fins and torso.



Chop the Pop. You'll need to make necessary adjustments and modifications. MegaroGoji has only 3 toes, so I sawed off his inward toes. Here I displayed a right and a wrong way to saw off his toes. As you can see, its possible to make a straight cut unlike the other foot where its butchered from cutting at multiple angles. One angle and one cut is all you need. Also I ripped out his teeth for I will create a new set of teeth later on.




Now, its time to mold and sculpt.

Holidays kept me busy from creating but finally G'74 is in its final stages.

Continued from the last session, I sculpted out the shapes with Super Sculpey. After placing the shapes in the right places, its time to define the detail and "fade in" the Sculpey into the vinyl to rid of seams from the clay. You do this with Paint Thinner. Dip your brush or finger into the thinner and smooth out the parts needed. Then its time toss him in the oven.


I know I didn't do the teeth before sending him to the oven, but from experience, its best to do the teeth last before painting. Why? Because I use rice to make the teeth and the oven will just cook them to nothing. Here, I use Apoxie Sculpt as a bond for the rice teeth and contour for seams from the vinyl. I did not randomly inserted rice into his gums FYI. Rice comes in different sizes and shapes, so group them apart like small with the small and large with the large. Smaller pieces are good for the back and large are best up front.


Now its paint time! I layered a base coat of acrylic black with a tint of midnight blue over it. The concotion gave this result.

Yes I must revisit this sculpt but holidays kept me busy. I plan to jam bic pens in him too for MG finger missles
