you know, the other day there was a very similar discussion in a comment thread on digg, with many taking a similar stance to you kiryu.... I didn't really understand it either, b/c i've personally never seen that (people thinking that great artists are just born & don't have to put in any effort). maybe it's b/c my sister & i both excelled in art, & both majored in art/graphic design in college (she graduated with a double major fine art/ graphic design, i burned out, changed majors & transfered to another state). Anyway, people around us saw how demanding/time consuming the art classes in high school & college were, so while they commented on our natural talent for doing well, they never saw it as "easy". But from the discussion on digg, & your comments here, there must be a segment of the population who really don't understand what it takes to get really good at it, no matter what talent you're born with...
