I made this for a costume contest last Halloween. It was an ambitious project conceived several months before that but due to some stupid, stupid procrastination, leaving us with only a couple weeks to build it in, this was the end result. Still won though!
I think it would've turned out better if I had made my dad conform to my original plan rather than I cave and changed it to his. I wanted it to be a single piece, he said more of a "suit of armor" design would work. He figured we could build it so that it could be put on by the wearer... alone (HA!).
Meh. Anyway, I'll admit that many of his designs were ingenious and it's still REALLY fun to put it on and stomp around a bit (you know it would be). Just wish it had turned out a little better. Sadly, this picture doesn't show a good shot of the spines - they were the coolest part. I'd like to rebuild this suit to make it look better and I'd definately keep the spines if I did.
My next project is Ultraman Nexus' Dark Faust... considering I have no deadline this time, it ought to turn out a lot better.
