I've finally completed a 2-and-a-half year project of mine: Godzilla: Legend of the Five Sentinels. I originally wrote a first draft in about three days, which SUCKED big time but served as groundwork for me to continue. My second draft became the first in a trilogy, but later I decided to drop the "Godzilla x Gigan" and just write the whole trilogy as one epic tale, the third draft.
The story focuses on the journey of one man, Alexander Trelane, as he goes from being a petty rich brat, to the most powerful and benevolent being in the world, and Godzilla's origins are linked to the so-called "Sentinels", genetically-engineered creatures from the ancient past.
It features Godzilla, Gigan, Anguirus, Varan, Manda, Rodan, Biollante, GunHed, and SpaceGodzilla, in addition to the so-called "Rogue Leader" and the "Experimental Anti-Godzilla Aircraft" (similar to Garuda). Trust me, it all makes sense once you read it.
G:Lot5S is 58 pages long, and written in script format (as opposed to a more typical "novel" type). While a little short for most scripts, since kaiju eiga call for many long action sequences that can be summed up in only a few sentinces, it would likely be on par or a little longer than GxMG or any number of "old school" G-movies.
I've really strived to make this more than a typical fanboyish "let's throw a bunch of fan-fave monsters together and have them blow crap up" type of story. I've tried to inject interesting characters and unique situations into Lot5S.
I'm not going to post it in the fan fiction forums, because I'm going to create a whole section on my website dedicated to it, including tons of designs, concept art, and hopfully some synthisized music tracks based on it.
