Thanks! I know there was some interest in something like this before (i think DannyBeane was trying to get it going) but there is a site called watch2gether that lets you set up a chatroom with a windowed version of a youtube/vimeo/other streaming site movie so that the film can be watched and discussed/mst3k'd etc as a group in realtime

I'm gonna watch this, and post on it some time this week. I liked these threads, I think the biggest problem is that we clearly have people voting but not actually commenting. It could also be movie choices, I'm not sure. Someone should respond about it.

I remember liking this a lot more as a kid. I suppose I’m thinking of the last leg of the big rampage sequence, but now, as an adult I can’t help but see all of the flaws. From terrible prop work (See the pic of the boat being overturned, you can see the bottom of the Behemoth prop that wasn’t supposed to be exposed) to the obvious riff on the Beast from 20,000 Fathoms.

The acting has a few bright spots, but even then you can tell these people had little to work with. The score seems to be going for eerie and comes off as annoying more than anything. The radioactive pulse or breath is actually neat, TOO BAD GODZILLA DID IT 5 YEARS EARLIER. I honestly feel as though the trailer on my Fantastic Dinosaurs tape did more to ingrain this film on my memory than the movie did itself.

The animation is actually pretty great here, although there’s not too much that doesn’t get recycled in the rampage. Which is kind of okay, because the last bit before he falls into the river is the best. I think if the design had been a bit more than a Sauropod and the plot been a bit more than Beast Redux then it could have been easier to overlook some of its more obvious flaws.

I'm playing a little catch-up since this has been a busy month for me. Just watched this. When I was a kid it was always a struggle to make it through this movie. The first half was so boring. Now as an adult I am immune to most 50's scifi pacing. That said, this film is almost identical to The Beast from 20k Fathoms. I preferred the story of that film compared to this one. However, I like the animation from The Giant Behemoth. I think the paleosaur has a better design and more fluid animation. That said if we are going to compare 50's Radioactive dinosaurs then Godzilla is the best. In the end I would pick this film up if it was ever released on blu ray so I could have my own Monster Vision marathon.
