The latest G-Fan announced the date. I'll be getting my room EARLY this year after getting stuck in a neighboring hotel this past G-Fest.

Woo! Got a room. I'm pretty hyped already. I wish this would be one of those years where they started leaking movies/guests early.
I suspect we may get a Gamera marathon on Thursday.

I reserved my room early this year (after missing out on the hotel last year). I'm pretty pumped. They'll have a hard time outdoing 2014, but I could do with a lower key event since I typically miss a number of panels I want to attend due to conflicts.
I'll be interested to see how they handles signatures this year since that was bit of a mess last year.
I am also planning to "tailgate" the dealer's room on Friday again

I had been all about heading to my first G-Fest this year...

...but that's SO CLOSE to my wife's due date (which is Aug. 5) and given that she went three weeks early last time, going out of town three weeks ahead of time is a risk I probably won't take. Have fun everyone. Wish I was going to finally meet some of you.

Where's your fandom commitment? I'm skipping my wedding anniversary to go. But as I told my wife, "sorry honey, I loved him first and you knew that when you married me."

It's not guaranteed, but I'm considering going this year since it will be right around my B Day...and what a present G Fest would be since I've never been.

Neat. I mean, G-Fest has currently gone from a sure thing to Maybe? *shrug*

Anyway, maybe the guest/movie announcements will determine what goes on.

I don't care too much what they are, I'm watching a Godzilla movie in a theater setting with a bunch of G-Fans.
That's fun.

show attack of the super monsters ,but watching a giant monster movie with other fans would be a blast (if i ever went)

i swung by the G-Fest facebook page to see if there had been any updates. They changed their background/cover image to be of Gamera, so maybe we're getting a Gamera themed G-Fest for his 50th anniversary?

Also they had an image of Hiroshi Sagae sculpting a G-Fantis! it would be slick if he had some sort of exclusive for the show.

Very hyped for this.

Cuz they couldn't get rights to play that when they had the related guests. I also prefer to see movies with the related guests and thats my favorite of the Tezuka flicks.

Special Announcement!! The incredibly fun daikaiju short film "SPACE MONSTER NUMAGUIRUS"(the new official spelling) will be having it's North American premiere at this year's "G-Fest" and the director Takayuki Hosunuma will be in attendance to host the screening!:

Thanks go to Jeff Horne and J.D. Lees for letting me hook them up with another big batch of new films this year; 10 shorts and 5 features!! This year there's another big line-up of shorts but also several very cool features.

The 10 shorts film include the North American premiere of "Space Monster Numaguirus" with the director in attendance, and encores of last year's fan favorites "The Day Of The Kaiju" and "Zella: Monster Martial Law"(with the director in attendance again), alongside many other cool new giant monster/daikaiju shorts like "HellyFish", "It Grows!", "Sharkasaurus", "Running The Gammatar", "The Elaborate End Of Robert Ebb", "Cargols!"(Snails!), and "Monsura Is Waiting".

The 5 features are "Insectula!", "Gila!"('The Giant Gila Monster' remake), "Extinction"('The Expedition'), "The Giant Spider", and "Peter And The Colossus".
