"Godzilla 4k Project" and new 4k reissue of the first film

Nihon-Eiga and Toho have collaborated on the "Godzilla 4K Project", a half-hour special featuring one minute from all 28 Godzilla films, remastered in 4k from the camera negatives (except for the first two films, whose camera negatives no longer exist).

Also, the original 1954 film has received a full 4k restoration, though the website for the restoration gives no dates for screenings...

I'd be curious how the special effects shots would look after being cleaned up, if they could at all. Those cells had a lot of noise on them.

Interesting. Would've been nice if they had gone ahead and done these restorations and then used them as the basis of the HD masters to use for things like blu rays... I am curious to see how these clips look. God willing, they won't be plagued with the problems of Toho's old HD masters.
