Weekly Kaiju Viewing Thread #9 (7/7)

Postby Alpha OTS » Mon Jul 02, 2012 9:55 pm

The Real McCoy is still MIA, so as the selected pinch hitter I am stepping up to bat! I notice we're trending towards just putting the first date of viewing post poll results in the thread title so I am following suit. That's probably a good idea anyway because you don't *need* to watch that weekend.

There is no particular theme in my picks. I'm trying to be pretty random. I wanted to include some original Ultraman eps and something in the vein of Deadly Mantis ala Mighty Joe Young.

It probably doesn't stand a chance, but I'm throwing my support behind Telegian.

Wow, I didn't see such open hatred for KvKG! :) I picked Megaguirus because it was the first Millenium movie I saw in that part of my dvd shelf.

No votes for the Ultraman eps? Gomora's the bad guy and its a two parter!

I thought Telegian and Gamera 80 were longshots. I was leaning towards voting Telegian. I'm honestly suprised by the Mighty Joe Young support. Might have to put my vote there instead.

Sorry guys, I left to go out of town on Friday and didn't get back until yesterday afternoon, and didn't have access to a computer. Okay; I could have got to a computer, but I chose not to. I can definitely do the next list if needed.

Anyway, my finger broke itself when I thought of picking Megaguirus, so I didn't go that route. My choice was narrowed down to three; Supermonster, Telegian, or Mighty Joe Young. I don't have access to Telegian, and I just didn't feel like watching Mighty Joe Young. So Supermonster it is.

I hate Super Monster, but I may rally behind it just to avoid Godzilla X Megaguirus.

I didn't realize Megaguirus would cause such an uproar.

On an ongoing viewing thread note, Amazon has been unable to fill and therefore has cancelled my Latitude Zero order. :( Going to have to find another store to buy it through.

I don't know if it's an uproar. I just like to smack Godzilla X Megaguirus/The Heisei Series 91-95 around every once in a while.

Y'know, for fun.

Did Latitude Zero become some sort of collector's item? $30+ seems a bit much, and it goes up sometimes crazily from there. Anyone know a site I can pick it up from on the cheap?
