The sixth annual Godzilla & Friends event will be taking place next month, on May 6-7 at Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas. It's sure to be another great event, with films, contests, and lots of prize giveaways.

The event is completely free to the public. I'll post the lineup of films when I'm given permission to do so. William Tsutsui is slated to make a guest appearance Saturday afternoon (he attended several previous G&Fs).

So if you live in the general area, please come! It's a lot of fun, sort of like a mini-G-FEST.

It runs from:

7pm-10pm Friday, May 6
10am-10pm Saturday, May 7

Henderson Center – Room #112
Washburn University Campus
Topeka, Kansas
Free Admission

Made possible by funding from:

Well I got back a few hours ago, and the whole thing went great. DAM (AIP dub) screened last night and was enjoyed by a large audience, especially the climactic final battle. (Again, thanks, Ed G. for giving them this version!) Saturday morning Ghidorah, The Three-Headed Monster was screened, and was received well also. That afternoon they played House Of Frankenstein and How To Make a Monster, both pretty decent films, I hadn't seen them before. They had the Godzilla Roar Contest, judged by Bill Tsutsui, fortunately the winner he picked was the one I liked. That evening Tsutsui gave a short talk about the disaster in Japan, because he was there when it hit and gave his recollection of events. The GMK screened, with a great reception. Oddly enough, during the GINO joke near the first... NO audience reaction. Seriously, you probably could have hear a pin drop the entire time, I was amazed. Afterwards they gave more raffle prizes and announced the winner of the art contest (I provided my own original art for last years and this years event, this one was DAM-themed). The next Godzilla & Friends is set for May 4 & 5, 2012.
