Well, now I need to track down a copy of Tremors. All of the others were on Netflix!

i really like the new format jellydonut25.

Since i watched this one on VOD, i didnt have any easy way to get screenshots... so these are pulled from all over

The Good
The cast. I think Reba McEntire and Michael Gross had good chemistry.

The creature design.

The poster references Jaws, and the creatures stalking underground with the ground bumping up is reminiscent of the dorsal fin

The Bad
The trailer as mentioned previously

Now that I am a bit older, the slapstick humor falls a bit flat
Image

The Weird
The unveiling of the creature is pretty cool, where they start out with the smaller snake tentacles and later reveal the larger creature... i think i would have made the mistake of starting with the big creature and then had the snake tentacles pop out when they thought they were out of reach... this would have probably come across much more gimmicky

Also while trying to find pictures for this post i came across this interesting website. It's like imdb but for the firearms that appear in the films, as you can imagine Tremors has quite the entry

I give this film 4 out 5 eight gauge rounds

I ended up putting in an order for the blu-ray through amazon because it was pretty cheap *and* it came with a free 24hr online rental so I could watch it right away. That' s the first I had ever used amazon for watching movies, and it was thankfully pretty painless. I'd definitely use it again. So with that said........

Another week of the poll thread and another great pic/pick! I hadn't seen this in a loooong time, and I had forgotten how good this was(I'm glad I have an order in for the blu-ray now). I mentioned earlier in the thread that the movie was pretty timeless despite the lame movie trailer it had, but I didn't realize how much of an understatement that was on my part. This movie hits all the good entertainment buttons.

"You will have long blonde hair, big green eyes, world class breasts, ass that won’t quit, and legs that go all the way up!"
"Damn it, Valentine. You don’t go for any gal unless she fits that stupid list of yours from top to bottom………Like that Bobby Lynn Dexter!"
Image
"Tammy Lynn Baxter! Well I’m a victim of circumstance."
"I thought you call it your pecker."

This is right at the beginning when we are introduced to the two main characters and its just a classic example of why the movie works so well. Excellent casting with dialogue and delivery that simply works. Otherwise it would just be another 80's monster movie. Even the bit characters have their chance to shine.

“Broke into the wrong god damned wreckroom, didn’t ya, you "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!"!â€
