Again I'm still not nearly as familiar with Ultraman as a lot of people, but this feels like pretty unexpected choice for the last character given monsters/aliens like Zetton, Gomora, Red King, Eleking etc. didn't make the cut.

Still, I'm looking forward to picking this pack up next week, and here's hoping we get an Ultraman DLC Pack #2 that maybe *does* feature some of those other characters!

That is another big surprise! Kamila isn't even a character from the Ultraman Tiga series that aired from 1996 to 1997. She's one of the three ancient giants featured in the 2000 film Ultraman Tiga: The Final Odyssey, which takes place after the series.

I first watched the Tiga series in late 2020 and early 2021, but I didn't watch The Final Odyssey until earlier this year. I waited until I had already seen all of Dyna and Gaia as well as both of their tie-in movies because they all preceded The Final Odyssey in Japan.

They're out! And they've also released a couple of new trailers, one for the Ultraman characters obviously, and another with Godzilla and Ultraman:

Baltan's ultra looks crazy! This is going to be so awesome to fire this up later and playas at least *two* Ultra characters I'm familiar with!

Oh, and they also added beam battles with this patch as well! And with the extra Xbox/Switch crossplay, hopefully this should help improve the health of the multiplayer a bit too.

I like that it seems as though they'll pulling from some of the, not necessarily "obscure", but "less obvious" corners of the franchise for this. Even if I'm not familiar with Tiga (yet) it just goes to show that the devs are clearly well-versed in their Ultraman!

Ghidorah's looking like a cert with that yellow lightning, and maybe Hedorah and Mothra, if the fog and that slightly-differently-coloured yellowish light above the clouds in the top left is any indication.

Either way they've got my money already, as I'll gladly buy any and all Godzilla monsters they want to add!

As expected, it looks like they're doing weekly teasers leading up to the full reveal and yep, this certainly looks like Ghidorah to me!

EDIT: Also confirmation that there are only going to be two monsters in this DLC pack. I thought the timing was a bit off if they were planning on doing these weekly reveals again given that they've said May16th will be the full reveal/release.

But oh well, they've got my money either way!

Both of them are looking great! I love the little nods to some of their moves from prior games, especially Hedorah with his "bellyflop". I'm a *little* disappointed they didn't go with the Showa version of Ghidorah, but I've always liked the Heidi one too (just not *as* much), so it's all good.

Someone obviously jumped the gun with this though since it's apparently still not going to be available for a few more hours, but I'll be picking it up as soon as it is!

Now all they need to do it add Angilas and we can have a full-on Godzilla vs Gigan tag-team match going on!

This is great news! I still haven't gotten the Ultraman DLC but I'll get that and this new pack at some point this summer.

They're both really great packs! Ghidorah's gravity beams have slightly shorter range than I was expecting, but he's a lot of fun. Same with Hedorah, who can dish out a lot of damage. And the amount of classic moves and call-backs they gave Ultraman and Baltan are awesome (I'm not really familiar with the other two).

It seems like there have been some hints dropped recently that they might be trying to get the go-ahead for Minus One's Godzilla to be added at some point, along with a possible Ultraman monster two-pack, though the latter seems like it could be doubtful whether or not it'll actually happen. I've got to imagine them being restricted from selling that DLC in Japan and China really hurt their profits on that one (supposedly it had something/everything to do with Bandai contesting their right to sell it in those regions).

Either way, if they keep putting out more DLC, I'll keep buying it!

And speaking of new DLC, they've just released a trailer for their first original character two-pack; though they're "original" in a very loose sense!

Apparently the international rights for Power Rangers are just so spread out and convoluted that it's easier for them to just do their own off-brand versions than be cool with not being able to sell it in half the world (or have to pay way more to be able to). Either way these actually look pretty cool! And I'm going to keep supporting this game in hopes we get even more licensed characters at some point too, since this is the closest thing we've gotten to a Godzilla fighting game in literally years.

I definitely didn't expect them to put out more DLC this soon after the last pack, but Ultraman Rising is coming to Gigabash on November 28th!

Even though I personally didn't vibe with the movie as much as I was hoping (though it *was* very good), I'll be picking this up just like I did with all the other DLC packs, since this game needs all the support it can get to hopefully show that there's still a market for big monster fighting games in this day and age.
