With the announcement of BIOHAZARD: Umbrella Chronicles for the Wii, many question whether RE can still hold its' own in the survival horror universe.
Silent Hill has given it a run for its' money on some occasions, but ultimately, RE always bounces back with something....whatever it may be.
The reason I bring this up is, since UC is basically the entire main series
in one game, just played out differently and with certain stages meant to enhance the storyline, a lot of fans are getting disappointed that all CAPCOM does with those characters is rehash old storylines with updated graphics and CG....see
"Lucas Syndrome".
RE5's on the way as well, but that's far away, an based on Gamestop and EBGames, there's a special edition 10th Anniversary edition of Resident Evil coming out for the GC, priced like a new game....
So, what do you guys think?

On topic....
If I read correctly, these are two pics of Umbrella Chronicles....If the game is like this, with the Wii-mote, then I'm definitely buying it. It's like RE4, I know, but maybe there's an option to explore the environment in 1st person....could you imagine that? Taking on the Nemesis himself one-on-one?!?!
I don't care if it feels like a rehash, this is golden.

RE 10th: History shouldv'e been out already....If not, then I guess this November or late October.
There're actually 3-4 books I think, out about the history of RE....sadly, none of them go into detail about RE 1.5, and Mikami and crew took the secret with them.
OT, rumor has it a beta of 1.5 made it out on the net, but those who have it won't share it...Believe it or not, that urban myth still has fans scouring the web for that prized ISO.....
BTW, just FYI, the girl's name was Elza Walker....She was basically Claire...just blond.
Also, just to spur up some discussion:
A man can dream, right? My money's on the little guy.

Let's bump this, shall we? I've been home for Christmas for about two weeks, was originally going to go down to Miami with my bestest chika buddy, but plans changed and I'm kicking it around Bumf**** USA for all of December. So, what to do to cure my boredom? Pick up RE4! Last I left off (so long ago), I was in "round 2", at the castle with hedgemaze and those nasty pooches. I'm almost at the end now, I just finished the fantastic level where Leon and Mike the helecopter pilot blow through the island Ganados's forces. Freakin' exhilirating! And right after the equally exhilirating (and action-movie cliche) fight with Krauser, which followed the suspensful fight with "It," which followed the scary-as-hell Regenerators... I think the Island portion of RE4 is the best.
I also stumbled upon something new: after the awesome helecopter "OH GODZILLA! WHAT TERRIBLE LANGUAGE!", the next building you enter is dark, dingy, and scary. There is a save typewriter, and if you wander a little farther down one passageway you'll meet a Regenerator, but one of the first things I noticed was a small garbage dumpster that could be opened. I opened it, and inside was something wrapped in a bloody white bag. It started jumping and squirming and it was scary as hell (it would have been a lot more unnerving if I had been playing at night). I waited to see if it would do something, but it just kept writhing, so I put a bullet in it. Whatever was in the bag died, and when I examined it, Leon's thoughts read: "What the hell was that?" or something to that effect. Weird!
There is one thing about RE4 that does bug me a little, too, and that is it's Zelda-like adventure game influences. It just seems a little out of place for a wandering merchant to be conveniently located just where you need him. I mean, who goes around selling and buying stuff in a castle, or an island fortress, especially while people are running around shooting at each other? Ah, that's just something that I always thought about...
... Anyway... so yah, RE4 rocks the house and definitely jump-started the franchise, but I'll have to admit, I kinda miss the old Resident Evil setup; the fixed camera angles, the dingy mansions and... most importantly... the zombies! I'm really getting an urge to do some old-school RE; I might re-play RE2 for my N64, the REmake, or perahps Code: Veronica X, which I'm stuck in the middle of and haven't played for the longest time. I also bought RE3 for the PS1 (never played it all the way through before, just peices), and began a play-through, but stopped a third of the way through when college and a social life took top priority. I wonder which one I should play?

I KNOW this is late, but it's 'cause I could've SWORN I answered weeks ago...ok...
I'd say play old school, then the REmake, then RE2, then RE3, then Code Veronica. Why? because even if it sounds tedious, you'll actually enjoy it more. I tried it - it's satisfying.
Also, good news - apparently there's a japanese magazine that claims they've scored an official preview of the game and it looks killer - imagine playing RE4....but instead of el pueblo, it's the Mansion, and instead of Leon and Ashley, it's Chris and Becky, or Jill and Barry! It was on some french games site, I had the link, but it was taken down, but you wouldn't be missing much anyway - no pictures.
