Monster Zero x SciFi Japan - Archive Only

It looks...kinda boring, honestly. I could probably get a few hours of enjoyment from it, but the game play isn't riveting enough to buy it.

The graphics don't bother me...but the gameplay looks far too linear and the same stuff over and over. If the cast of monsters were huge then things might be different.

When I said huge, I meant the roster of kaiju in the game, tho the idea of Godzilla growing is interesting.

I don't think this game has enough substance if each level is 10 minutes of what we already saw in the video with a handful of monsters to fight. They need several more kaiju to make it interesting.

Licensed video games tend to be terrible. And once you get over the graphics and seeing some of your favorite monsters, what exactly is this game going to offer? Especially for $80? I can easily see a lot of people pre-ordering this and getting sick of it pretty quickly not long after they get it. Doesn't really seem like a good use of $80.

I also agree with Legion - Licensed games usually suck. The gameplay I've seen is linear, extremely repetitive, and kinda boring. A massive amount of kaiju *might* make up for the basic gameplay..for some people, anyway.

I have been thinking about it, if the Tokyo Game Show footage is indication and the standard one stage one boss principle is in place, by the current boss count that would amount to about 4 boss oriented stages (since the Super Xs and Kiryu are more "regular" enemies than bosses). Given how fast one could go in the demo footage (about ten minutes) that would make the game appear to only be about an hour long from what we've seen, perhaps two or three if they have enough simple stages without bosses. However that still would be an extremely short game by today's standards. What other bosses do you guys think we might see? Mecha-King Ghidorah and Battra are similar enough to regular King Ghidorah and Mothra that they could be bosses (in theory), especially since they do have Monster Arts (spaced?) figures like most of the cast sans JJ. Since Meltdown Goji, Super X 3, and MBT-92s are in it they might have Destoroyah (also in the MA line!). Personally I'd want to see Final Wars Gigan and Monster X even though the chances of the latter happening are slim to none.

Updates:

New characters: Destoroyah, Mechagodzilla74, Super Mechagodzilla.
Weapons: Destoroyah will use chest beam. Godzilla can fly like in vsHedorah. Meltdown can happen to Godzilla.

Recent magazine mentioning them also said (going by translation) that MG 74 is definitely an alien like in the movies, Since King of The Monsters for the Game Boy had Showa MG combining with Garuda you can never be too certain. This also means

Anyone have it preordered? Have mine coming from cdJapan. Wasn't sure if I wanted to get it, but it seems we'll have more kaiju in it then first thought. Should be fun.

I've decided to import the game what's the best place to get it from? I've been trying to order from AmiAmi but everytime I try to log into my account I get an error. Been trying for the past hour and every time I get an unexpected error message/web page.

Any other places that are decent and cheap?

Hmm I got my Super Robot Wars Z3 from Yes Asia, and was considering it for this new Godzilla game.

I ended up getting it from AmiAmi. I get the game the G14 code and the G95 reissue figure.

so far this is the best looking godzilla game i have ever seen.
