Mercs has "Duo" mode where you and a friend tackle majini cooperatively online, "Survival" where it's 4 against the world(squad tactics help; think Gears 2's "Horde Mode") and "Versus" where it's..well...every man/woman for him/herself(I think 4 - 6 or 8, I'm not sure). You race to get the highest score in the bracket while trying to take each other out in the process....at least that's how it was described.

The last two you have to buy for 400 MS pts., though I've heard there's no point in d/l'ing it once you've beaten the game and updated it. It's available then.

It kinda makes you wonder if they'll ever add more costumes and playable characters to the melee now that the game's online community's growing...Plus, I think it'd make for some awesome fights in the Versus mode!
